WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT?
The Founders of MpowerU have a long outstanding record in pedagogical, teacher training, and business management spectrum. Professor Hiba Kassab, CEO, and Dr. Rania Al-Hammoud, COO, are both skilled faculty members and professionals in their respective fields with over 25 years of practical experience in the Canadian and international markets. They both have many notable contributions to the education industry and are pivot members of many local and international associations, as well as being socially active in their community. Both Professor Hiba and Dr. Rania are passionate, dedicated, and specialized academics with internationally recognized qualifications, who believe in making a difference. The slogan “Enlighten your path with knowledge,” translates their mission, which is, to transform the lives of learners. Their expertise is what makes MpowerU different!

Founder and CEO
I am an experienced subject matter and an international trainer in Pedagogy, Teacher Training and business management, with over 25 years of Canadian and international experience. I’m a professor at Conestoga College and the Co-founder and CEO of MpowerU™ Training & Consultancy Inc., the breakthrough to educators and teachers training and corporate training.
For many years, I have held various leadership and teaching roles. My career direction towards teacher training has been driven by my passion for education which has led me to focus on pedagogy and teacher training where I have acquired extensive credentials in this field, including the Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW), and ISW2.0, Post-Secondary Teaching, Teacher/Trainer for Online Learning and a Teacher/Trainer of Adults and many others, in addition to my MBA from Kuwait University. I am also a professional development trainer specializing in coaching, leadership, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), group facilitation, and many other areas. I take pride in developing both face-to-face and online courses (Synchronously & Asynchronously) and designing programs with state-of-the-art learning outcomes.
Along the way, I have achieved several academic accomplishments, including micro-credentials, Intercultural Teaching Skills for Post-Secondary Courses, Teaching Synchronously and Asynchronously, Teaching in STEM Programs and many others.
I am highly competent and well exposed to various sectors, including profit and non-profit organizations, finance, healthcare, investment and banking. This has broadened my perspectives and equipped me with the necessary expertise to blend both my managerial and teaching practice together, in which MpowerU Training & Consultancy Inc. was the product of my journey.
I have conducted over 75+ workshops, nationally and internationally, at worldwide institutions, community centers, Non-for-profit organizations and corporations. I am dedicated to making the learning journey engaging, interactive, and productive for students and participants.
I take pride in having received multiple awards for my professional achievements, including the Award of Excellence and Quarterly Achiever Nominee in 2016 and the Conestoga Honor List for Teacher/Trainer of Adults in 2015. I also hold many professional designations and licenses, including the BCO License, LLQP License, IFIC License, and ICVS.
I have also been an active member of the General Assembly of the Lebanese Scout Association since 1998, a guider of Girl Guides of Canada since 2012 and an active Guest Speaker and Coach cooperating with Newcomers Programs to facilitate cultural integration.
Founder and COO
Being a passionate educator, I have been recognized as a leader in the educational field where I led the development and continual improvement process of multiple programs.
A highly experienced and accomplished civil engineer and a member of the professional engineering body in Ontario, with over 20 years of experience. Recognized for outstanding teaching practice and highly cross-cultural communication skills, with extensive experience in developing processes and training engineers in the civil engineering industry. I specialize in teaching engineer-specific programs including Structural Design, FRP Reinforcement in Concrete Structures, and Mechanics.
I am also a professional trainer in pedagogy and teacher training, with a wealth of credentials in the training field including Facilitation Development Workshop FDW and Instructional Skills Workshop ISW. The blend of both my engineering and teaching backgrounds has helped me initiate a scientifically proven approach to training and developing various innovative learning methods and strategies in flipped classrooms, STEM, blended and experiential learning, and facilitation workshop, in addition to many other teacher training approach.
I have conducted over 100 workshops for thousands of participants, nationally and internationally, at worldwide educational institutions such as the University of Waterloo, Khalifa University, and Sheffield Hallam University. With a wealth of over 60 publications and papers in the education field, I am dedicated to making the learning journey engaging, interactive, and productive for students and instructors.
Beyond my professional achievements, I am an exceptionally socially active and a pivot member in the community. I have volunteered with several local schools to promote engineering, particularly for women. I believe in community building and cultural preservation and actively work towards these goals. I’ve received several awards in recognition of my volunteering within the community including the volunteer appreciation award from the Tamil cultural association of waterloo region in 2019.
I have been awarded many certificates, including the Certificate in University Teaching from the Center of Teaching Excellence at the University of Waterloo, and several awards in recognition of my teaching excellence.
